GLASGOW, UK: Global audio company RHA celebrated the official launch of its new MA Wireless headphones with a world-first audio experience in London. The MA650 Wireless and MA750 Wireless were used to transport amazed commuters to Glasgow, the hometown of the British audio specialists, in an extraordinary binaural (3D) audio experience.
Busy Londoners were driven in RHA-branded transportation – an iconic London cab – which was kitted-out for this one-off experience. Participants were given a set of RHA MA Wireless headphones which used 3D “binaural” audio to recreate the sound of Glasgow’s most interesting soundscapes.
The amazed passengers were taken on an exciting adventure through Glasgow’s bustling streets, along the river Clyde and into one of it’s most famous music venues, King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut. All of this was experienced using RHA’s new MA Wireless headphones, which harness leading technology and intuitive design to create truly believable audio experiences.
Binaural audio recreates an authentic listening experience by using two microphones in the recording phase of audio creation. This means that when the recording is played back through two headphones, listeners get a true sense of depth and being “in-the-room” with the noise in the recording.
“The new MA Wireless range gives our customers the chance to experience the build-quality and great sound that RHA has come to be recognised for, but with more freedom to move around.
“Sound transports us. Music can take us back to our childhood, a film takes us into the lives of strangers and today we have used the amazing sound from our new MA Wireless headphones to lift commuters out of day-to-day life and take them on an adventure. It has been wonderful to watch people really enjoying the possibilities of sound.”
Andrew Reid - CEO, RHA.
INTEGRATED, INTUITIVE TECHNOLOGY
The MA Wireless range has been meticulously designed to fit seamlessly into everyday life. 12-hour battery life will ensure that users stay connected all day, while the universal remote allows users to switch between music, calls and digital assistant functions at the touch of a button. Listeners can send messages, have text read out to them or use navigation apps using only the remote on the headphones. This means that users almost never have to interact directly with their device.
RHA’s MA Wireless headphones allow users to listen 10 meters away from any connected device. The tap-and-go pairing (NFC) function means that it’s hassle-free to connect quickly to new devices. This combined with the ability to connect to two devices at once means that users truly have the freedom to work and play. For example, while using the headphones to listen to audio on a laptop, a call or text from a connected smartphone will override the sound to alert the customer. For those who prefer to use their device on “silent” mode, the MA Wireless uses vibrations through the silicone neckband to make sure that no call is missed.
The MA Wireless reaches full power after 2.5 hours charging. When the headphones eventually run out of charge, users can continue to listen via Bluetooth® while the headset is plugged into a power outlet.
THE WIRELESS INCARNATION OF RHA’S ACCLAIMED TRUE-TO-LIFE SOUND
“The main design consideration for the MA Wireless series was the sound. We started designing the MA Wireless series facing a challenge. We knew we could make them look amazing, but RHA is known for giving customers a great audio experience. That experience is what we aim to achieve with every product, and the MA Wireless is no different. We feel that we have delivered on this; the MA Wireless series is definitely worthy of the RHA name.”
Kyle Hutchison – Head of Product Design, RHA.
To deliver the great RHA auditory experience that listeners have come to expect, the MA650 Wireless houses a custom dynamic driver (model 380.1), which delivers a precise, pure listening experience. The MA750 Wireless uses a precision dynamic driver (model 560.1), engineered to mimic the audio output of the acclaimed MA750, one of RHA’s most popular products. RHA’s signature brushed metal Aerophonic™ housings are featured across the MA Wireless series and are designed to channel sound to the listener without distortion, ensuring the best possible sound quality.
The noise isolating design and a variety of silicone and Comply™ tips combine to guarantee minimum interference from exterior noise, allowing immersive and personal wireless listening.
DESIGNED AND TESTED PERSONALLY TO ENSURE PERFORMANCE AND COMFORT
The Product Engineering Team at RHA are the MA Wireless’ biggest fans and have been seen wearing the prototypes for months. They have tested the headsets extensively and evolved the design to suit their vast range of interests. During the development stages at RHA headquarters in Scotland, they designed the headphones so they could be enjoyed in many environments from the gym to standing in a downpour. Splash and sweat proof to IPX4 rating, the MA Wireless passes these tests with flying colours. The team also wanted the headphones to suit more formal settings, and so designed the premium aesthetic of the series to look stylish and elegant.
The team also worked tirelessly on perfecting the contoured, silicone SecureFlex cable. The durable nature of the silicone, combined with its water-resistant properties provide sweat-proof, non-slip comfort. The flexible shape of the cable provides stability when users are listening on the move, without being either too cumbersome or too delicate.
The metal finish on the MA650 and MA750 Wireless has always been a standard of RHA products. The metal components of the MA650 Wireless are made using high-grade 6063 aluminium for lightweight durability and effective sound delivery and the M750 Wireless features 303F grade stainless steel for lasting audio excellence.
Every person is different with two unique ears, and diverse musical preferences. RHA believes that there should be a degree of personalisation with headphones to ensure that they deliver performance and comfort in each individual ear. This is why the MA Wireless series include a variety of silicone and Comply™ Foam ear tips, an optional cable clip for an extra secure fit if desired and a mesh carry pouch.
